POLICE SEEK PERSON OF INTEREST IN FATAL SHOOTING |

 Phoenix police say they have a person of interest in a series of rapes, murders and robberies that have terrorized central Phoenix.
Police say they got the break they needed from surveillance video taken after the murder of a pre-school teacher in December.
Phoenix police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person of interest.
On Dec. 12, 2005, Tina Washington, 39, was reportedly shot at a bus stop at 40th Street and Southern Avenue.
Washington's murder is one of the cases that investigators think may be related to a series of other crimes.
Police were called to the area near 40th Street after reports of shots fired behind a business. Officers found Washington dead at the scene.
Before her death, Washington apparently mentioned to coworkers that two black men, both wearing hooded sweatshirts had been harassing her at the bus stop near a gas station where she took the bus home to Tempe each evening after 6 p.m.
The day after Washington's murder, an African-American person of interest walked into the same gas station, asking the staff if they had video cameras.
According to police, he apparently told clerks he was a relative and asked to see the video. He was denied access to the video. Phoenix police have determined that the person who went into the store was not a family member.
The person of interest is described as between 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, black t-shirt, black baggy pants and possibly glasses.
