Accomplice of serial killer Legere granted full parole |

 Todd Matchett, an accomplice of Miramichi serial killer Allan Legere, was granted full parole during a National Parole Board hearing in British Columbia.
Matchett was imprisoned for second-degree murder after pleading guilty to murdering Miramichi-area shopkeeper John Glendenning in 1986 and brutally beating his wife, Mary. Scott Curtis and Legere were also convicted.
The parole board, in granting 39-year-old Matchett his release last week, said he was a "model parolee." Since beginning day parole in 2006 and completing a community violent offender relapse prevention program, his risk for general offending is considered low.
He has spent the last year and a half in Vancouver, where he's a carpentry apprentice.
Matchett was in his late teens when the three broke in to the home of an elderly Miramichi couple.
Glendenning, 66, was beaten and strangled to death, and his 61-year-old wife was severely beaten and sexually assaulted during a robbery.
As a condition of his full release, Matchett can have no contact with the victim or her family.
Legere and Curtis are still in prison.
